Storybox Turns 5!

This month, Storybox turns 5 years old and honestly, we can hardly believe it.

What started in a spare room with a simple idea has grown into a shop space, studio and community built around meaningful gifting, supporting small businesses and creating positive impact. Over the last five years, we’ve worked with incredible makers, partnered with purpose led organisations, welcomed customers through our doors and built a business centred around thoughtful, conscious shopping.

To celebrate, we’re giving back with 10% off across the website all bank holiday weekend until Monday at midnight. The discount will be automatically applied at checkout, so it is the perfect time to pick up a thoughtful gift, treat yourself or get organised for upcoming birthdays and occasions.

As we celebrate turning 5, we thought we’d share five things that make Storybox what it is today.

5 Facts About Storybox

  1. Storybox started in a spare room
Like many small businesses, Storybox began from home with big ideas, lots of packing boxes and plenty of late nights. Seeing it grow from a spare room into our own shop space and studio in Belfast has been incredibly special.
  2. We support small businesses and makers
Every order helps support local makers, artists, social enterprises and ethical brands across N. Ireland. Championing independent businesses across N. Ireland has always been at the heart of Storybox.
  3. We believe gifting can create real impact
Storybox is about more than beautiful products. We want people to think differently about where they spend their money and how gifting can support people, communities and the planet at the same time.
  4. We recently launched our brand new gift box range
One of our biggest milestones this year has been launching our new elevated gift box range, featuring our first fully printed gift boxes. It is something we have dreamed about for a long time and has allowed us to create an even more thoughtful and meaningful gifting experience from the moment it arrives at the door.
  5. Giving back is part of our story
We donate to PIPS Mental Health Charity and Friends of the Earth Northern Ireland to support both mental health and environmental causes close to our hearts. Our most recent donation was £1000 to PIPS at the end of January this year and we hope to make another later in the year. We are also committed to supporting wider humanitarian charities and getting involved in community in whatever way we can.

And a little bonus for the year ahead…
We are excited to be growing our collaborative workshops and continuing to open up our space to fellow small businesses, creatives and community led organisations through space hire and shared experiences. We also have some exciting events coming up, including a little community craft club in the works, watch this space.

To everyone who has shopped with us, collaborated with us, attended a workshop, recommended us or supported us in any way over the last five years, thank you. Small businesses survive because people choose to support them and we never take that for granted.

Here is to the next 5 years!
